Sliced version of our Reishi mushrooms. This beneficial mushroom contains polysaccaride compounds, linoleic acid, Vitamins B6 & B12, lectin and thioproline. Not edible, this wonderfully healthy mushroom is used as a tea, simiply steep a slice in a cup of boiling water.

I started drinking Reishi tea this past winter after several years of more and more frequent bronchitis and pneumonia, and I found that my immune system seemed to be less and less able to cope with any infections or particulate matter inhaled. I make the tea by filling a 2 quart saucepan about 7/8th full with water, adding a half dozen or so pieces of dried Reishi, and simmering on extra low for a couple of hours. After the liquid has reduced by about a third I turn it off and drink it both hot and cold, with and without some lemon. After a while it seems like ordinary tea flavor, even ice tea flavor, but no caffeine! My breathing has improved immensely and my immune system seems to be back on track. Reishi is said to work best with extra vitamin C, so I usually include an extra Vit C tablet with my daily multi. A plus I was not expecting is that I have much more energy and feel younger and stronger (I am 63). I would recommend Reishi to anyone!
